PANDORA'S DOLLS
Monday, 22 September 2008
to Wednesday, 1 October 2008
9:30 PM
Pandora's Dolls is an exciting, high-energy burlesque interpretation of the legend of Pandora. Rather than opening a box, this Pandora has a giant key with which she winds up her toys, played by the House of Burlesque Performers. One by one, her dolls come to life as the Seven Deadly Sins, in a showcase of vaudeville circus burlesque!
Appealing to anyone with a taste for burlesque theatre, this take on Pandora is a wickedly delicious reclaiming of naughtiness and female curiosity, reversing a trend in origin myths to cast women as the villains.

AS YOU LIKE IT
Tuesday, 30 September 2008
to Sunday, 5 October 2008
9:30 PM
‘Dragonfly Theatre Company’ presents a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It. The society elite find themselves betrayed, homeless and desolate. Living in the slums they discover an unexpected utopia. Featuring a fresh and exciting cast, ‘Dragonfly Theatre Company’ presents a unique take on the Bard that will enliven and invigorate this year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival. As You Like It deals with traditional Shakespearian themes such as love and relationships, as well as that of exile and banishment. It is one play Shakespeare wrote truly for the audience, hence the title As YOU Like It. In this, ‘Dragonfly Theatre Company’s’ inaugural production, we aim to bring As You Like It to the audience in a whole new light. This production is both modern and entertaining, and definitely full of laughs.
Not your average Shakespeare, and not your average Fringe Festival show!
