Schedule for December 2018
|2/12/2018 - 3/12/2018||Unspoken: What Will Become of Me?|
Join us at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre to explore the themes of ageing and loss of independence; gently and with a touch of humour.
Very few of us plan for our diminishing capacity and advanced care needs as we age. How much easier would our end of life experience be with a bit of forward planning and discussion?
Unspoken: What will become of me? is an event about how we approach the end of life for ourselves and for our loved ones. Through performance, art, activities and discussion, participants can gather information, start thinking about the future and be inspired to take action.
Presented at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre, the event features Melbourne theatre group, Born in a Taxi whose performance looks at the lighter side of planning for twilight years.
The event also includes useful presentations and information from community organisations and healthcare professionals.
Anne Marie Fabri from Northern Health encourages anyone who has been thinking of planning for future healthcare for themselves or a family member, but hasnít had a chance or doesnít know where to start, to come along and have a chat.
ďPlanning for future healthcare and the final stages of a personís life is something that families should do together if possible, as it can be difficult for adult children to make decisions for their parents if discussions and planning havenít taken place.Ē
These free events are presented by Darebin Council in partnership with Health Issues Centre, Council on the Ageing Victoria and the Victorian Government.
